A day in the life of a Raccoon

For Christmas I had a Raccoon, he is now my best buddy and my favourite toy ever!
But I now have new responsibilities in life...

Here I am keeping a watchful eye on him in case he wanders off into the clutches of Dexter or Ditto!

It is important to keep one eye half open even whilst sleeping in case he escapes...

I even sometimes fall asleep holding him in my mouth

He must be carried around at all times and never left out of sight

Ditto rather likes my Raccoon also and here she is wriggling into the picture to try and steal him!

Ditto being the girl went for the multi coloured octopus which she is clearly very proud of

Got to keep an eye on that Raccoon still though whilst Ditto is around as she pinches him when she can!

Dexter had a new little dog friend

We also had pigs trotters each, apparently mine was the same size as Dexters and Ditto's, I don't think it could have been as I ate mine in half the time the others took to eat theirs, then I had to beg for crumbs from Dexter, who has the patience of a saint as he never grumbles at me even though I do at times deserve it!

Dexter is eight years old on 10th December, here is a video compilation of various photos from eight weeks to eight years, with Ditto joining in from 2006 and Deazel from earlier this year.

I'm nearly 9 months old now and life has been rather odd lately, Mum no longer lets me off the lead and I've been told I won't be able to run and play until next year which seems a very long time away to a 9 month old pup! But being injured has its upsides and as a result Christmas seems to have come early and we are all getting LOADS of new pressies, of course we will still expect more pressies at Christmas!

I have had a harness from xtradog.com in racing green colour and here I am posing in it....

We have all had new equafleece coats too!

Dexter also had some new pyjamas for when we move house, slightly hoping I don't get any of these, although Dexter seems to like his!

And we also have had three everlasting treat balls and three kongs which Mum is filling with various yummy treats so there is definitely an upside to this restricted exercise lark... but I will be glad when I am off the lead again!!

Lilac & Red meet again!!

Today I met up with my bro Mr Red again, now called Oscar, first we went for a walk on the Ridgeway which was great fun and we played loads, here we are posing for the camera

Sitting is rather boring compared to playing, time for a little snooze. Oscar is rather bemused at this sit in a row lark, it is rather a waste of time but we just have to humour mum when she starts waving the camera around

There was much discussion about what were our differences, it appears I am a touch shorter, a touch wider, and have a wider head and am a bit darker and maybe Oscar is a little taller, but we didn't make this game easy for them and keep still for very long.... Honestly... humans! Does it really matter... we had far more interesting stuff to catch up on other than compare whose mum had the widest head or longest nose!

Above Oscar is being a good boy this time so cue time for me to stand up, we preferred not to sit still together at the same time! Below pic, time for me to sit and Oscar to stand, got to keep these humans on their toes!

And pictured below is Oscar is posing... We started off in life with Red and Lilac collars, now we are both wearing green, mine has a brown stripe on it though, so easy to spot who is who.

Humans got to eat some rather nice smelling food at the pub, we got a bowl of water, life is so unfair at times..

Then it was time for more pics.... I whispered in Oscar's ear that play was FAR more fun than boring sitting photos and Oscar decided I spoke far more sense than our mums did...

So the above quickly turned into this!

I'm going slightly cross eyed here trying to see what is stuck to my mouth, I didn't catch it honest!

But now and again us pups have to behave here we are sitting together!

Now time for some yoga after all that play, here is my downward dog position

Then it was time to say goodbye and head home...

Oscar and I are now both 6 months old and have grown soooooo much since we were last together... Here we are at 5 weeks Lilac and Red, aka Deazel and Oscar.

Happy Birthday Ditto - 5 today

Today is my birthday and I'm now 5 years old, which apparently means its 5 years ago since I looked like this

This pic was taken by Sharon and Jim of Roughshoot Vizsla who along with Nugget, my dog Mum, looked after me until I joined my new Mum in Wiltshire. Although I've now grown up I still find humans very confusing at times, I appear to have had three mums (how can that be?!) and when Deazel arrived home (see previous posts) I was told his Grandad was the famous Yogi who won top dog at crufts in 2010, who is of course my own Dad, however Deazel is now referred to as my brother.

I have lots of contact and updates from my first parents (Sharon & Jim) who are actually now my guardians so its great that I have so many humans to care after me. I have given up trying to work out who is what relative as they seem to morph into different named ones later in life, one of the many oddities of humans, life is so much simpler as a dog...

Anyway, back to my birthday, I had a lovely walk this morning and Mum was planning on taking us all out again this evening and taking some birthday pics, however its raining.... heavily..... and although I'll still get my walk apparently camera's don't like the rain, so instead of some new birthday pics I am going to post some old favourites.

And a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of my seven gorgeous sisters!

Water Retrieves

I'm still going to my weekly dips in the local dog hydrotherapy pool, Olivia my swim coach says I am doing REALLY well for a pup and I'm now in the big pool, Mum says swimming is really good for me and will help strengthen my legs up, however she also says eating all my dinner up is good for me also and I know which I would rather be doing!

We also do some swimming in the local lake, Dexter and Ditto do so with more enthusiasm than I do but at four and a half months I'm pretty good at going out to fetch the dummy, quite why she has to keep throwing it out in the lake though I don't know, plenty of dry land behind her which would be much more fun, strange ideas these humans...

This is Dexter showing how it's done, Mum says she hopes I will be as good one day, right at this mo I am not so sure I could EVER be that enthusiastic about jumping into a cold lake!

And this is Ditto, she drops the dummy before getting back to Mum and this is apparently my fault as I was trying to pinch it off her and give it back to Mum myself, I got told off for this though and next time had to sit and watch, then Ditto bought it back properly, but Mum wasn't videoing that time.

Training Time!

Time for another update! I am now four months old and have a very busy schedule, I've started learning to swim and each week go to a Hydrotherapy pool, it was a little bit scary the first week but I was very brave, it felt funny not being able to stand on something firm and I was very splashy with my front legs, 2nd attempt and Mum said I was HEAPS better, not as splashy and I swam up and down properly :)

Afterwards I get a shower and shampoo and then go under this big snake like thing that hisses hot air at me which dries my coat off, then I get lots of fuss and cuddles which is the best bit!

At the weekend I met up with an old friend of Dexter and Ditto's called Charlie, he is rather sweet on Auntie Ditto apparently, here we all are. Pic taken by Charlie's Mum as mine forgot her camera...

In between all this fun I have to do some training and here are some videos taken earlier this week:

This one is all three of us doing a sit stay, Dexter is reluctant to leave the training toys left at the top end of the field in the grass as there is a BALL in the bag! I'm a bit fidgity in this one as its the first one I had done of these for a while (thought perhaps Mum had forgotten about sit stay but no such luck!)

Mum said I was a really good little pup in this one doing a sit stay in the middle of the field all by myself! Sometimes we all train together or sometimes two of us are tethered whilst the other one gets to train/play. I got a bit fed up though and decided to have a snooze.

Now this is more like it! Training over and its now Playtime!!

Here we all are lined up in a row, Dexter and Ditto are watching something that is called deer, its ears were visible popping out of the wheat in the nearby field, not really quite sure what all the fuss was about.

I soon got bored standing looking at a field of wheat and tried my best to persuade Ditto to play, but she was more interested in watching the wheat.. oh I mean watching the deer, but not quite sure what a deer is yet...

It's about time I introduced myself!

Sorry it's taken a while but I am only 14 weeks old and had to learn how to use the computer, Uncle Dexter and Auntie Ditto have been teaching me....

I was born on the 13th March 2011 and I am from Scotland which I suppose makes me Scottish, but that's confusing as I thought I was Hungarian...

I have a very famous Dad called Coast who was the first Show Champion Vizsla to have won an Open qualifying stake (field trials) which means he has brains and working ability as well as being very handsome as you can see from the below pic. Here is a link to his website.

Coast is by Yogi otherwise known as Hungargunn Bear It'n Mind which from the link you can see was the Best in Show winnner of Crufts 2010. (Yogi is also Ditto's dad).

My Dog Mum is Mz Bert and here she is looking glam in the showring:

And here she is whilst looking after me and my brothers and sister as a pup! (stolen from Vicky's FB!) I had 6 brothers and one sister so we kept her busy :) but she looked after us very well.

Mz Bert is the neice of My Uncle Dexter, so really he is my Great Uncle Dexter, and I must say I do think he is great :))

I used to be called Mr Lilac when I lived in Scotland...

...but one day a human came along who was to be my new mum and decided my name was to be Deazel, but apparently my proper name is Cornbright Skipper and here is my pedigree.

I had a VERY long journey from Scotland to my new home in Wiltshire where I joined Dexter and Ditto and became the third D!

Life has been a whirlwind of adventure since, I have now started school and I have to do my homework each day, but I get to play lots too with the grown up D's who are my new best friends.

Now that I can type I will keep the blog updated with some of my adventures...

Rio's Birthday Viz Whiz

Dandelions!!

Hmmm Mum took the camera with us on a walk at the weekend which generally means we have to obey orders and do silly things instead of enjoying our walk and going hunting. So to keep her amused we had to run through dandelions, obviously she had never tried running through dandelions as they really do get up your nose!

The importance of coordination

I can never quite work out why for part of the year the lights get turned off early and all is dark and at other times the lights stay on... all rather baffling really, but I do like this time of year, lots of light means we get lovely long walks, lots of rabbits and hares to chase at this time of year too!

Plus in the daytime whilst Mum is working we can laze out on the lawn. Looking good on camera is always important and coordination always helps, here you can see myself and Dexter doing a very coordinated sleep on the lawn...

But sometimes its nice to have the whole bed to myself also :)

Here you can see Dexter and I are doing perfect synchronized flying ears, not quite sure what Mum was doing getting in the way and standing in horse poo.. really.. on camera also, now I'm very partial to rolling in fox poo (delectable perfume) but I wouldn't dream of doing it on camera! Its one of those pleasures in life where I have learnt its best not to get caught in the act, although it generally ends up with a shower when I get home as for some reason Mum doesn't seem to appreciate the wonderful smell, humans eh?! No sense of smell at all!

New Forest Viz Wiz & 40 (ish) Gingernuts!

Early this morning we headed to the New Forest for a Viz Wiz meeting, great turn out, hard to count how many there actually was as vizzies don't tend to stay still for long! A few people attempted to count and the general opinion was around 40.

Here we are at home before leaving, slightly worried about Mum - she made us wear bandannas, apparently so she could spot us easily, hmmmm humans do seem to be slightly lacking in such things as eyesight and sense of smell, there were more than 40 humans there but I didn't feel the need to tie a scarf, balloon, or anything else around Mum's neck in case I lost her. Must be a human thing though as several people commented what a good idea it was, nothing stranger than humans I say.

I had a great time, charging around like a lunatic and saying hello to every single dog, plus, bonus I spotted an old friend Hazel looking extremely attractive in a pink collar, I think she rather liked me also, all the teeth showing was just for show, in fact I was convinced of it, yes the more I think of it the more I think she REALLY liked me, pic below shows me giving her a hug whilst we were supposed to be sitting for our photos to be taken, yawn.

My fame is spreading also, it was good to hear Mum being corrected when she introduced herself as Kate, the response being ahhh Dexter & Ditto. In fact I am sure a lot more people will remember me after today as I did rather strut around making sure everyone knew I was the boss. (despite wearing a poncy bandanna that is)

Ditto on the other hand was very well behaved and stayed close by Mum, showing everyone where the breeds nickname Velcro Vizsla comes from. Here she is per usual looking like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth, sat in between Charlie and myself, as you can see I'm sticking my tongue out with my attention elsewhere other than on the boring camera!

Its actually a huge compliment to the breed in general that although there were approx 40 dogs, most of which hadn't met before, ranging from 14 week old puppies to more elderly Vizsla, some bitches some dogs that we all got along great with no fighting, a bit of grumbling and authority stamping between us men and others living up to another nickname the Vocal Vizsla, but I bet not all breeds would behave so well under the circumstances.

New Kid on the Block!

Another Vizsla has arrived in the area and even better he is little Ditto's full brother. We first went round to meet Flynn's new owners a couple of weeks back, Mum said we had to be on best behaviour, so we both obliged of course. Ditto rolled from head to toe in disgusting smelly fox poo - now you wouldn't catch me doing that, I think its a girl/perfume thing. I saved my star act until we went into the house, much to my delight Flynn's new Mum seemed very happy to throw tennis balls for me in the kitchen, I am very good at throwing them back and did a perfect shot tossing it back to Mum and it landed smack in the middle of a mug of tea which she then split most of it on the settee - bit silly of her!

Last night we went round for supper, well, not sure why I'm saying supper as the humans ate but we weren't given any, most unfair as it smelt pretty good.

But.... meeting Flynn made up for it - a new playmate!! He was a little shy at first and despite my best antics playing with thekong he didn't want to join in, but he soon realised although I am a bit of a giant in comparison I am very tolerant of being jumped on and my ears bitten (years of practice with Ditto!). Then the three of us had great fun and played all evening :)

Today we had a lovely walk in the fields nearby to home, unfortunately Mum took the camera which means we have to sit and pose. Well... sort of pose, I like to do my best to ruin the shot, I am sure there is something interesting behind me here!

Now if she takes the SLR its not too bad as that means action shots, but this was the little panasonic which means we have to sit still.... yaaawwwwwnnn...

We do try NOT to both look at the camera at the same time as that would just be too easy!

It's been a busy week - tomorrow we are off to meet Daisy for a walk, Daisy isn't a Vizsla, she is apparently a terrier, but we enjoy pretending she is a rabbit and chasing her around. We had to act as search and rescue dogs one night in the week as Daisy had gone off hunting, we thought this was great fun - we'd just come in from our normal walk when the phone rang and we got bundled off into the car for another one in the fields in the dark, great fun - humans seemed to disagree and were cross with Daisy who was luckily found after being missing in action for over 5 hours!

Holiday at the Country Club

Its been a great start to the year so far, just got back from a run on Beckhampton Gallops and thought we should update our blog as it's a little overdue!

Christmas wasn't looking too promising, bags were being packed which is always rather worrying, but there was a surprise in store, a human called Tim arrived and along with some of our favourite toys and bedding we were chauffeur driven to our holiday home - The Canine Country Club

We soon became good friends with Tim & Jackie and had great fun, we had a very luxury room to stay in which had underfloor heating so we were snug and warm. It was very cold outside though so we made sure to keep reminding Jackie that we feel the cold, our hotel room was always very snug and warm though. In fact since returning home I have been trying to tell Mum that she should install underfloor heating, heat coming out of the wall is all very well but you can't lie on the wall can you?!

We also went swimming in a heated indoor swimming pool where I showed off my swimming skills, not sure what I thought of this indoor swimming lark though, not quite the same as a lake or the sea! Ditto said she felt lots safer in an indoor pool but she is a girl after all!

Each day was filled with activities, walks and fun. Emptying out the toy bin became a daily ritual, one can never have enough toys and its always important to check them all before making a selection - Jackie and Tim let me bring my favourite toy home with me - a very squeaky Christmas cracker which makes huge amounts of noise :)

Seaside and Camping !

We had GREAT fun at the weekend on a camping trip with mum and a few friends, it's always a worry when we see bags being packed as this normally means being abandoned, but not this time - our beds and food were included in the packing! And this is where we ended up two hours later...

It was great to see Auntie Han again also, she always gives me lovely head massages, to show my appreciation I like to curl up on her lap, Mum says I'm too big and bony to be a lap dog but I disagree - look I fit quite well, utter bliss!

Humans and dogs (much to our disgust) generally sleep separately, but this rule also got changed, we shared what is known as a tent with Mum who had this really snugly, warm, cosy, comfy (yep you get the idea) thing she called a sleeping bag, now to me it looked like my new dog bed but I was put firmly in my place on this one and we had to fall asleep dreaming of being inside it, so unfair!

The campsite was fun and we were very well behaved, this is Ditto doing her morning stretches ready for some action:

We had a very important job to carry out, guarding our new territory and Mum's belongings, here we are keeping an eye on the rucksack and camera AND more importantly my new toy!
Hmmm no comment on this one, humans do the strangest things, a fancy dress party on the beach? Very odd behaviour.

Now I know why we were brushing up on our swimming last week, its lots harder swimming in the sea as there are waves, plus the water tastes funny, and not nice when it goes up your nose, but we had such fun retrieving out of the sea. Here are some photos of me:

As you can see I love leaping into the water, it was such fun. Ditto never gets a chance to water retrieve whilst I am there as she just isn't as quick, so I have to be told to wait, so unfair, whilst Ditto gets her chance to retrieve. She was a bit unsure of the waves but even I have to admit she was very brave and still fetched it each time.
Not sure if this is a very flattering photo of me, I'm rather tired and wet looking, with salt water up my nose!

Then the next day we headed off to a different beach:

I generally get there first, but not always, one false step and Ditto is right there to snatch it from under my nose, here it bounced off the rocks, I look horrified to spot that Ditto is almost on it as I quickly turn in mid air

and Ditto gets there first, much to my disgust as she smugly trots away!

Ditto again, she always seems to pose at the same time as retrieve, must be a girl thing.

People always comment how cute and adorable looking she is

Where as I am more workmanlike and just get on with it with my usual high level of enthusiasm!

Even though I often get there first, we never argue and always remain the best of buddies.

I took a sneaky look in mum's inbox and see there is talk of camping and seaside! So thought I had better get some swim practice in and show little sis how its done....

Ditto swims a bit like I used to when I first started swimming - too high leg action, she'll soon get the hang of it. Very annoying though I had to sometimes stay on the riverside so she could have a go at retrieving, the things you have to do for little sis! It's not my fault I am so fast!

Beach fun

Today we went off to see the sea.. only we didn't see all that much of it as it was VERY low tide, I was sort of glad as I am sure mum had a swim session up her sleeve so I was happy to play on the beach instead.

We had great fun bounding up and down in the sand, as you can see I managed to remain ladylike and stay quite clean...

Unlike Dexter who seemed to get rather dirty... and to think I have to share a lift back home with him!

I wouldn't dream of getting myself so dirty. A word in his ear was needed and I told him exactly what I thought!

And even Dexter looked rather sheepish, but a bit too late now!

I practised my emergency stops to avoid getting my paws unnecessarily dirty...

And as you can see managed it quite well...

Somehow although I try to be ladylike I don't look quite as elegant as Dexter, such long legs and a size zero!

It was rather windy and we found if we twitched our nose our right ear stuck out.. luckily this effect didn't stick..

Then after more play it was time to head back home for a good kip!

Hi All.. firstly apologies for a lack of blogging (blame mum, always hogging the computer), plus we have been going on some fantastic walks just lately as mum has taken up running again, well that's what she likes to call it, sooooooo slow, snails pace if you ask me!

I've had a rough couple of days but pleased to say I'm feeling lots better now, always good to give humans something to spend their money on too, what else would mum want to go to work for if its not to pamper to my every need :)

I wasn't feeling too great on my walk on Wednesday evening and then was a bit lame afterwards... ok correct that to very lame (just don't like to admit these things in public!), I greeted mum on 3 legs on Thursday morning and despite the fact I started walking on it again when I heard her booking me into the vets she still insisted on taking me.

Hmmmm, next thing I know is I sort of wake up feeling not at all like I normally feel... apparently I had had a general anaesthetic and xrays, mum picked me up in the afternoon and I spent the rest of the day being unable to stand up without falling over, the only good thing about this was it meant I got lots of fuss and attention.

And as for Ditto... well... when she is ill such as when she went out of season (humans call it spaying, I call it no longer being quite so fetching and attractive to us dogs) I sat and nursed her, however she refused to come in the same room as me and left me in my basket all alone :(

This morning I greeted mum with a 2o minute story telling session and told her exactly what I thought about what had happened and not to take me to the vets again!

Apparently nothing showed up in any of my xrays, (mum could have spent £400 on tripe sticks and pigs ears instead,) so we are none the wiser as to why I suddenly decided to limp... I'm on painkillers for a week and then with luck back to normal.

Hi fellow gingernuts... we have been very busy just lately, lots of walks and hunting to be done, but thought you might like to share some pics from a photo shoot last week..

Recent Events: The ups & downs of a Vizsla Girl

Well firstly to start with the nicer news, I had my 2nd birthday on 5th September and I had a new pink handbag, Dexter had a guitar, it wasn't actually his birthday so not really sure why he had to have a present also, as you can see from the pic he had to muscle in on the action also. Actually I am rather glad he got a guitar for my birthday as I preferred the guitar to the pink handbag, and being the bossy madam that I am I stole the guitar leaving Dexter to carry the pink bag around, don't tell him I said so but I thought it rather suited him :-)

We both had a lovely weekend the previous weekend too as my boyfriend Charlie came to visit, we took him up on White Horse Hill to show him one of our favourite walks and then attempted to behave ourselves whilst our parents sat eating and chattering, rather boring that bit, they could have played with us instead! I was practising my lip curls at Charlie and seem to have them done to perfection, I can curl my lip without making a sound, most men normally back off, and then I can look totally sweet and angelic the next second wanting kisses and cuddles off mum. You see I don't mind Dexter sharing my bed but I draw the line at any other men, after all I wouldn't like to ruin my image!

Now on to the not so nice events. My mum for reasons known only to her took me down to the place called the vets, now regular readers will remember they cut my throat open a year ago (mum wasn't impressed on that one), I was a bit surprised to be taken down there as I didn't feel in the slightest bit ill. Anyhow, the last thing I remember is Mum holding my paw whilst I had a needle to "make me feel sleepy" the next thing I remember is waking up feeling absolutely awful with aches and pains and my stomach cut open. Shortly afterwards Mum appeared again and took me home, I then went on hunger strike for 2 days and refused to eat, I mean would you feel like eating if someone had cut you open?! I felt a bit rough for a few days, made it worse that Mum seemed to keep forgetting to take me for a walk, she kept leaving me at home and taking Dexter.... I really don't understand humans sometimes at all.

Anyway after a week I was back out on walks and bouncing along as normal. Apparently these events mean I wont have to put up with being in season again, and that apparently means I cant have babies, nor can I have a husband.

Mum seemed to think a pink handbag would make up for all that, huh! And she wonders why I opted for the guitar!!

Pleased to say Ditto is now back to normal, think it was a grass seed she had stuck. Here we are on our local walk....

Ditto sometimes loses me in the long grass as she isnt quite as fast as me! Here she is looking for me...

And here I am trying my best to get a grass seed stuck in nose... Since Ditto spent the night upstairs with Mum in bed she hasnt shut up about how comfy it is in the "other world" up there, so I reckon if I get a grass seed stuck also it might be my turn next!!

As you can see from the pic I wasn't feeling too good yesterday, basically after my walk I went very quiet and was breathing quite heavily and kept trembling, Mum was quite worried about me and I sat with her on the settee at night then when it was bedtime she said she wanted to keep an eye on me so I got wrapped up in a blanket and carried upstairs into somewhere I didnt even know existed but wow it was great, I spent the night as above wrapped up in a blanket sleeping next to Mum and although I felt a lot better this morning I didnt really want to get out of bed as it was so comfy! I used to think my own bed was comfy, now I am not so sure!

After Mum was chatting to Charlie's mum today she thinks it might have been a grass seed stuck up my nose which did make sense as I didnt have a temperature or anything and today I am now back to normal.

However I am considering acting ill again when it comes to bedtime as I really like the idea of sleeping with Mum again. Dexter was very jealous!

Hi fellow ginger bloggers, firstly apologies yet again for a rather long abscence, our Mum has been rather busy and hasn't had the camera out much lately, she has promised to do get some new photos of us hopefuly this weekend though :-)

I was hoping to see my boyfriend Charlie this weekend, but unfortunately plans have changed and we have had to postpone. My mum has been muttering about visits to the vet and no more being in season, not sure what I think of that, cant say as I am too keen on the vets. I remember last year I went in for some spots on my throat, they ended up slitting my throat open (no I'm not joking!) and had to have loads of horrible metal stapels in my neck, all as I needed really was a course of antibiotics but the vet didnt seem to want to listen to Mum. Mum often tells me where I am concerned she is always right and this time it was true! But I suppose at least if I dont have any more seasons it means that I wont be shut away from Dexter and he wont start acting all odd again.

Oh and great to see Troon (my sister) has settled in well with Arnie :-)

Playtime and Snoozetime

Here we are having a bit of a play after we had just been on a nice long walk, Dexter seems intent on doing headstands in his bed, not quite sure what all that is about! I prefer to just dance around and jump on him, must start practising my head stands!

And here we are 20 minutes later having a snooze :-)

Oh and a bit of additional news... I am heading into that place they call Season again so I'm feeling slightly odd at the moment, no doubt Mum will soon start acting oddly again and start shutting us into different rooms, sigh....

Hi All

We are now back home with our Mum after our little latest visit to Sussex whilst Mum went off diving with rather large looking animals called sharks, cant say as I have showed much interest in her photos, not a single one of a rabbit :-(

Rocket - that was a fantastic idea re getting GPS system for our beds, will def look into it should Mum start playing silly games with our beds again, still not very convinced about where one of them now is, but as the wall is no longer there where it used to be I suppose I haven't much choice!

However we have more to contend with now, I couldnt believe my eyes when I arrived home and went into the back garden.....

Now we are back Mum has promised to do some more photo shoots with us once the weather improves, Ditto liked the sound of this as she thinks she is a bit of a model at times, I prefer the action hunting shots though.. all this posing is a bit too tame for me :-)

...... well I have to blame it on Mum, I try putting Dexter in the frame for a few things but he is just as bemused as I am at current happenings...

One minute it was there... the next it was gone! There has been lots of visitors coming in and out of our home and one of them stole the wall out of the kitchen, we were quite amazed when we came out of the lounge to be greeted by a big open space. Mum didn’t seem annoyed, puzzling behaviour as we have been bought up not to steal or destroy things.

But she has been acting rather odd lately, she developed a habit of moving our beds around, which Dexter didn’t like one little bit! Here we are below both hanging onto the bed in the hope that this one stays put.

Apparently there is something called scaffolding arriving next week, doesn’t rhyme with rabbits or walks or even pigs ears so cant imagine it being very interesting but its due to all these happenings that we have been unable to get on to the computer to update our blog as much as we intended to.

We are off on a little holiday in the morning to visit our Auntie Hayley, only for two weeks this time, Mum keeps waffling on about sharks and South Africa so sounds like she is doing that silly diving habit again.

But we PROMISE once we are back to start doing regular updates again :-)

Hi to all our blog friends, just to let you know we are back home with Mum again now, we had a good time in Sussex over Christmas, this is a pic of us with our friend Boo. She was a bit unsure of us at first but we all became great friends. Although Boo used to get quite annoyed that she couldnt catch me whilst out playing in the fields!

Ditto and Boo got along well also and their favourite game was sliding on their tums across the carpet.... odd ... must be a girl thing as I wasnt inclined to join in.

As I am the eldest I thought it only fair to get to put the first blog of 2008 up, Ditto for once will have to wait her turn!

Despite having fun it was GREAT to see Mum again and we behaved like lunatics for at least half an hour when she came to collect us. We had a lovely walk back in our old hunting grounds at the weekend and its good to be home :-)

However Mum has been rather slack on the camera front since we have been back (although its not quite a week yet) all of the recent pictures I can find on the computer are her holiday snaps, must say not too impressed with some of them so thought I would post a couple.

Cannot believe Mum abandoned us at Christmas and instead spent her time with these strange looking creatures:

Now this one is even worse, apparently she woke up (whilst in the jungle) and found him 4 inches away from her face.... if she woke up here and found Ditto or myself 4 inches away from her (we are banned from upstairs) we would be in the dog house, so how could she possibly share a bedroom with this I ask?!

Then she puts her strange underwater kit on and goes and dives with more odd looking creatures.

Although I rather like the look of the following.... is it a strange looking pheasant with blue feet?

Now we have computer access again we are both looking forward to catching up with all our fellow gingernuts!

Winter Walks

Winter seems to have arrived and here we are yesterday morning setting off on an early morning walk. Mum seemed to think it was a lovely morning, a red sky as the sun was rising....

Here I am below ruining a good photo as it was way to cold to put my bum on the floor for long!

We didnt see any rabbits out and about this morning but that didnt stop us hunting in the brambles looking for them....

Plenty of running around was needed to stay warm, here we are having our favourite game of tag...

I was then just about warm enough to put my bum on the frosty ground long enough for Mum to take a photo....

Dexter, ever the hunter was still in hunting mode, I like a bit of hunting from time to time, but I'm not quite so into it as Dexter is...

Or perhaps I am just more clever... rabbits... this morning... no chance!

OOhhh and lastly we have some good news to report on donations for our "Abandoned for Christmas Campaign" We are even receiving money THROUGH THE POST!! Our fame must have spread, last week we had the following Christmas card from Grandma with some Christmas money inside it to buy some Christmas treats! Soon we will be rich! Dexter has his eye on a new pheasant toy (probably because I chewed his old one up) where as I quite fancy a little jacket to keep the chill off on these cold mornings!!

Great card although we think we need to get the black marker pen out on the "fluffy" word!!

A dog is for life AND for Christmas

I have just had a quick look on the web but cannot find one.... I've seen stickers in cars that read "A Dog is for Life and not Just for Christmas".... well I would like to buy Mum one that reads "A Dog is for Life AND for Christmas" So if anyone has seen one please help us....

Ditto is a bit oblivious to all of this yet, but Christmas time is approaching and Mum has started her usual pre Christmas behaviour of gathering up some of her "toys" and putting them into large bags.... this normally means she is heading off on what she calls a "trip", but I call it a long walk WITHOUT US :-(

So we are off on a holiday of our own to stay with Aunty Hayley in Sussex, she does look after us well but its not quite the same as being with mum, still she said the other day she had found a Tuna Pudding recipe for us for Xmas dinner, so that is something at least! But just to let all our blog friends know we wont have access to internet down there, will try to post again before we head off but if not we will be back online at the New Year...

New Forest Vizzie Whizzie

As I am now fully cooked and not undergoing any further seasoning Mum took me and Dexter to the New Forest for a Viz Whiz, there was 11 gingernuts in total and through the afternoon we managed to deck two of the humans, one of which I can claim full credit for; doing my charge in between the legs routine :-)

I do try and steal the limelight from Dexter at times and got my usual "Isn't she pretty comments" Here I am above with one of my new friends who was giving me lots of cuddles.

But highlight of the day was seeing Charlie again, he is still very taken by me and was doing lots of neck nibbles. I quite enjoyed this but did put him in his place if he tried to take things any further, after all I am a lady and this was only our second date, us girls have to maintain our standards you know Charlie boy!

Mum says her photos on the walk were not up to much so is looking forward to seeing if anyone else has any good ones....

Divine Incredible Tantalizing Tarty Overwhelming

girlie vizzie that I have EVER set eyes on, however today she just looked like plain old Ditto, ok, yeah she's pretty but she's also a pain in the butt at times (always pushing in to be first and hogging the bed etc) so whilst she makes a great buddy I don’t really think she is marriage material. I really don’t know what came over me this past week.

Her seasoning seems to be nearly over and whilst we are still in separate rooms in the house we did get to walk together again today and it was a great! Fantastic news as hopefully this will mean that shortly Mum will resume normal behaviour again and stop shutting doors in our faces and let us have the run of the downstairs and garden together again.

In Season

Well this weekend has been Day 10 and Day 11 of me being seasoned, or in season or whatever it is that humans call it. I'm now feeling rather tired, and all as I want is cuddles.

Mum is still acting odd, keeping us shut in different rooms, up until this weekend we were still being walked together (under strict supervision!) but now we dont even see each other, I am so missing Dexter and I hear him crying sometimes from the other room.

Little sis is looking very attractive at the moment, we are still being kept apart most of the time which is becoming a bit of a bore. It also means we are a bit limited to where mum can take us, but at the moment we still get walked together, Mum says I am not very doggy (strange cus I thought I was a dog... well I am certainly not a cat), remembering back to the last time Ditto was in fashion, or rather in season as humans say, there was only a few days that I had to be walked alone.

Here I am chasing her around the field, she really is quite tasty!

Yesterday Ditto came into season, now she quite often is a little bossy boots but she is a right little madam at the moment!

If I don't do exactly as she wants I get put in my place, I might be the oldest but Ditto is definitely the boss, I wouldn't dare answer her back :-(

Here you can see us out on a walk yesterday and I am not getting a moments peace to go off rabbit hunting.

Mum also keeps us apart unless she is keeping a strict eye on us and this I find most unfair.... oh dear its going to be a long 3 weeks!
